AppLabs Spearheads Corporate Social Responsibility Programs

ACT, the philanthropic wing of AppLabs was started with a special focus on Education and Health Care since 2006.
Recently in Scotland, AppLabs employees volunteered their time to build footpaths in Selm Muir forest to help improve accessibility to the woodland site. The teams worked with the Forestry Commission Scotland to make Selm Muir Forest more accessible and enjoyable for local children with physical disabilities from Cedarbank and Pinewoods Special Needs Schools, Livingston. The AppLabs US office initiatives included 'Operation Christmas Stocking', wherein the employees extended support to the US troops in the Middle East, by collecting useful items to send to them for Christmas. The AppLabs Lindon office employees also regularly donate gifts for families that are unable to afford them, as well collect canned food from the employees to help fill up the local food bank.

AppLabs works with four schools in Hyderabad, India - one government primary school and 3 privately run schools under Sharada Vidya Niketan in the outskirts of Hyderabad. The government primary school houses around 130 boys and girls from Class I to Class 5; the other 3 private schools have around 200 students, most of them orphans aged between 3 and 11. Activities in these schools include - donation of uniforms, text books and stationary items. ACT members regularly visit the schools on special occasions like festivals and national holidays, including Independence Day and Children's day.

AppLabs always has and will continue to support causes where we can see some measurable results of our collective efforts. The sheer joy of giving back to the society gives our employees immense satisfaction."
AppLabs is closely working with Nirmal Hriday, an NGO run by Mother Teresa Charitable Trust which supports over 30 old age homes in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, where it provides shelter to destitute patients suffering from tuberculosis, diabetes, as well as HIV positive patients. AppLabs makes quarterly donation of life saving medicines to the organization. Other initiatives include holding quarterly blood donation camps, organized in association with the well known Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust in Hyderabad. Over 300 employees support the cause at every camp. ACT also regularly collaborates with premier hospital/healthcare institutions like Wockhardt Hospitals, as well as supports organizations like Family Services, a voluntary organization based out of Bangalore, which runs schools for underprivileged and physically challenged children.
The AppLabs Charitable Trust also regularly organizes voluntary donation camps called 'SAMARPAN', to collect old clothes, books, household and stationary items, and the proceeds of which are distributed to old age homes, schools for the mentally challenged, as well as to slums and villages in and around Hyderabad.
